Even though the sum was not huge (about 100.000 USD), why did they find so much trouble in getting funded here in Italy?

Thus, all in all

A Ballarò, ieri sera, il signore (classe '33) a destra si è sentito apostrofare dalla "signora" (classe zero) a sinistra, con queste parole:

Francamente credo che l'animosità, l'ansia che hanno connotato l'intervento del professor Rodotà la dicano lunga sulla sua terzietà e sulla sua imparzialità ... c'è solo un elemento di verità nelle affermazioni che lei ha fatto: ... è stato per 3 volte parlamentare della Repubblica di sinistra ed è quindi evidente che il suo pensiero politico è legittimamente un pensiero politico Comunista, di Sinistra, Antiberlusconiano ... così come il mio è a favore di Berlusconi, Liberale, e credo assolutamente opposto al suo ... questa discussione interessa solo a quelli legati all'Antiberlusconismo ... sono state dette tante falsità, è stato rappresentato il legittimo impedimento come qualcosa a favore di Berlusconi ... Rodotà a fatto una cosa a metà tra una lezione ed un comizio, e ha detto un sacco di falsità! Di falsità! ... Ha detto cose false! ...

Così, giusto per farvi notare che "signori si nasce", come diceva la buonanima di Totò, e Stefano Rodotà lo nacque...
